The New Me :o)

Just realised I haven't even blogged this year! :oS Oooooops! Sorry folks!. Anywayz as Kokokelli has been very quiet of late :o( I've been trying to get myself back into shape and more healthier so I've been dieting, exercising every day and getting up earlier to get myself back into a routine (since being unemployed in march 2010 I've slowly let myself go over the last 2 years).
A friend recommended trying My Fitness Pal which is available online and as an app for your phone :o) it's gr8 for keeping track of your calories and exercising. With your phone you can even scan the barcodes on your food & drink to add it to your list which makes it alot easier. You can still add things manually though or you can search their database of over a million different food/drink products. I've been using it now since 30th January 2012 and so far I've lost 10lbs and am feeling alot better in myself :o) I've still got a way to go to get back in my size 10's lol :oP but I can get back in my size 12's even though they are still abit snug (ie. skin tight lol).
Exercise-wise I've been mainly using Just Dance 3 for the wii and also Zumba Fitness for the wii. I've found these fantastic as you can use them in the comfort of your own home and they are so much fun! The best thing being they can really get a sweat on! Especially the Zumba! :o) I usually do Zumba Mon/Wed/Fri to give me a break in between and then Tue/Thur/Sat/Sun I do a mixture of Just Dance 3, Step Machine, Twist 'n' Turn and Stationary Cycling or Tae Bo (if I'm feeling brave lol).
Food-wise I'm counting calories and trying to incorporate more veg into my diet (YES VEG! lol) you dont really realise how many calories you're actually having until you start counting them (ie. sometimes I was eating enough for 2 people lol) now I'm controling portion sizes and learning to balance things out more (eg. if I know I'm going to be having a high calorie dinner I'll have a low calorie lunch) then of a weekend when I know I'm going to be having a few beers, I do a little bit more exercise so I have extra calories available to use :o).
On the whole it's working wonders for me! It's going to take alot more hard work and abit of time but I'll soon be back to the size and weight I was happy at (size 10 and between 9.5/10st) and I can't wait! :o) plus once I start working again I'll be burning alot more off during the day too.
So am I feeling abit more motivated? Yes I am! I'm slowly getting my life back on track. I'm getting myself in shape, so now all we need to do is find jobs and then me & my lovely Dr can finally start looking for our own place :o) then you never know wot might happen next ;o)
